About Me

Jacky Ho graduated from the Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University. He holds the Piano Recital Diploma from Trinity College London and the Handbell Performance Diploma from the London College of Music, studying under Ms. Linda Yim and Dr. Kevin Mazimas Ko. More recently, he has pursued saxophone performance under the guidance of Malaysian soloist Scarlet Gouk.

Jacky is active across multiple musical fields. A choral enthusiast, he has trained with ensembles such as Cantabile HK, Cantoria HK, and the Hong Kong Baptist University Choir. He has extensive experience as a choral accompanist, working with groups including the HKBU Choir, Southern District Children’s Choir, and Yuen Long Children’s Choir, where he currently serves as accompanist.

In the handbell community, Jacky has participated in both local and international events, including the 21st International Handbell Symposium in Hamamatsu, Japan (2024). He is the conductor of The RingTouch HK, leading the ensemble in performances across different regions, including a highly acclaimed concert at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. As a dedicated handbell educator, he teaches in multiple schools, nurturing young musicians and guiding students to success in major competitions such as the Hong Kong International Handbell Olympics. He has also been selected for the Hong Kong Bronze Recital Ringing Track for two consecutive years, performing advanced repertoire to high praise. Jacky continues to refine his conducting skills under the mentorship of maestros including Mr. David Harris, Mr. Lee Afdahl, Dr. Kevin Mazimas Ko, and Mr. Choi Ho Man.

Beyond performance, Jacky has composed and arranged numerous handbell works, exploring new possibilities for the instrument and collaborating across disciplines. He studied handbell arranging with Japanese composer Kazuko Okamoto, and in 2023 composed Regain, the theme piece for the massed handbell concert “Ring Out! Ring In!” at the 26th Yuen Long Arts Festival, conducting over 100 performers in its premiere.

In addition, Jacky served as Project Director for the 27th Yuen Long Arts Festival program Children’s Musical Journey Around the World, promoting cross-cultural exchange through music.
